Treatment Approaches

I use a variety of effective evidence-based treatment approaches tailored to your needs and treatment goals.
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on changing negative patterns of thinking and behavior. It's based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and that by changing our thoughts, we can change our emotions and behaviors. CBT is often used to treat anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavior therapy that is used to treat other mental health conditions such as substance use, depression, anxiety, and trauma. DBT focuses on teaching individuals skills to manage their emotions, improve their relationships, and cope with stress in a healthy way.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps individuals accept their thoughts and feelings, and commit to making positive changes in their lives. This approach is based on the idea that trying to control or eliminate negative thoughts and emotions can be counterproductive, and that instead, individuals should focus on accepting them while taking action towards their values and goals. ACT has been shown to be effective in treating a variety of mental health conditions, including, depression, anxiety, panic disorder and grief.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is an evidence-based approach designed to help individuals process and heal from trauma, distressing memories, and negative thought patterns. Using bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping), EMDR helps the brain reprocess difficult experiences, reducing their emotional intensity and allowing for healthier coping. This therapy is effective for PTSD, anxiety, grief, depression and other trauma-related concerns.
