Commonly Asked Questions

What can I expect during the consultation call? During this brief call I will ask questions to help understand what is bringing you in, what kind of support you’re looking for and share more about the services I provide. During this call I will also answer any questions you may have about my therapeutic approach and provide logistical information about my practice.

Where do you meet your clients for sessions? I provide virtual therapy sessions through a HIPAA compliant platform called Simple Practice. Through this platform we are able to meet for video appointments, send and receive secure messages, complete payments and provide receipts, superbills, etc. This virtual platform allows a private and secure way for us to meet at your convenience.

Where do clients need to be located in order to receive therapy from you? I am licensed to provide therapy to clients residing in California and Tennessee. Clients must be physically located in either CA or TN at time of session in order to proceed. Session will need to be rescheduled if you are traveling outside of CA or TN at time of appointment or you may be subject to a late cancellation fee.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment? A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to change or cancel an appointment. Late cancellations can impact the ability for other clients to be seen. There is a $150 fee applied if less than 24 hours of notice is provided, or if an appointment is missed.

How long are sessions? Sessions are approximately 50-55 minutes but can vary depending upon treatment needs. During the initial assessment appointment, we will discuss my treatment recommendations, frequency of sessions, length of treatment and treatment goals.

How long will I need to have therapy? Therapy with me is completely voluntary. Length of treatment can vary depending upon treatment goals, type of stressor, past trauma, current level of distress, impairment in functioning, environmental factors, strength of natural supports, ect. Graduation from therapy is an ongoing collaborative conversation between you and I. Other factors that determine readiness for graduation include your self reports, my clinical observations, assessment tools that measure depression and anxiety levels, and achievement of treatment goals identified at the start of therapy.

How much does therapy cost? There is a $195 fee each 50-55 minute session. A superbill can be provided if you are seeking reimbursement from your insurance company. I provide limited slots for sliding fee scale clients.
